DAGUPAN CITY, May 13 (PIA) – This city was a recipient of several sewing machines from Japan’s Nippon Skilled Volunteers Association (NISVA) on May 2.

Represented by Shinji Okumura, NISVA donated one unit of Singer 311, four threads edging machine, one unit hi-speed sewing machine 191D and Chinese cotton threads to the city government.

The donor also handed over cash money to Mayor Benjamin Lim as a one- year maintenance fund of the machines amounting to P6,000 and expenditures for oil amounting to P600 a year.

Lim thanked the donors saying the sewing machines are a great help to the city's livelihood projects, one of which is being managed by the Pugaro Sewers Association operating for a year now.

The city shall be responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and repair of the donated sewing machines at its own expense.

The cost of electricity in the operation of the sewing machines, cost of labor and other incidental expenses shall also be in the account of the city. (JCR/VHS-PIA-Pangasinan with reports from CIO)
