Co-op union agrees to enrol 500,000 new members in PhiliHealth
MANILA, Aug 1 (PIA) -- The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and the Cooperative Union of the Philippines recently signed into an agreement to enrol 500,000 new Individually Paying members to the program.
The signing ceremony was led by PhilHealth President and CEO Dr. Eduardo P. Banzon and Felix Borja, engineer and secretary general of the Cooperative Union of the Philippines, a statement posted on its website said (philhealth.gov.ph).
Under the MOA, the Cooperative Union will tap its member cooperatives specifically targeting those with more than 5,000 members.
Aside from enrollment to PhilHealth, the Coop Union will also ensure the continuous payment of the annual premiums of all members.
Also present to witness the event were lawyer Edgardo Julio Asuncion, PhilHealth SVP for Legal Sector; Greg Rulloda, VP for Corporate Affairs Group; Evelyn Bangalan, OIC-GVP of Member Management Group; and Gerry Saudi, IEC consultant of Coop Union. (PhilHealth/RJB/JCP-PIA NCR)
