Makati launches Twitter traffic account, improved website
MAKATI CITY, July 13 (PIA) -- The local government on Thursday launched its official traffic Twitter account “@MakatiTraffic” that will provide motorists and commuters 24-hour traffic updates.
In a statement, it said the project aims to provide fast and efficient delivery of updates on road conditions or incidents, real-time traffic information and advisories particularly on major streets in the city.
The launching coincided with the 35th birthday celebration of local chief executive Erwin S. Binay. Likewise, the local government also relaunched its website, www.makati.gov.ph.
The new website now includes a real time weather map that provides daily forecasts and digitized profiles of all its barangays.
The portal also now has links to its official Twitter account: @MakatiTraffic, forums for public opinions and posts, downloadable local government forms, Makati's official gazette, Gawad Kalinga and Palpy & Halley or the city's anti-smoking advocates. (ICRD/RJB/JCP/PIA NCR)
