Police patrollers intensify measures vs violators in Metro Manila
TAGUIG CITY, Sept 21 (PIA) -- Lawbreakers may soon find themselves behind bars as Metro Manila police intensify efforts to crackdown on their operations.
The police scored high following successful operations in Metro Manila, after National Capital Region Police Office chief Leonardo Espina ordered to intensify crackdown versus law violators.
Espina told Metro Manila cops to hit criminals and other law violators.
Espina said that he ordered every police patroller to be on alert and on guard against hold-uppers.
Based on police reports, patrolling policemen of Quezon City Police District Police Station 11 recently killed two robbery hold-up suspects along E. Rodriguez corner G. Araneta Avenue in Quezon City.
Authorities identified the suspects carrying improvised handgun, three 9mm, five caliber .45, live ammunition, eight empty shells and a plastic gun replica.
The suspects were nabbed by patrolling policemen while on board a passenger jeepney bound for Cubao, Quezon City. QCPD officers are now looking for the other suspect who fled with six mobile phones and some cash.
In a related move, the drive to track down wanted persons is ongoing. Quezon City police also recently arrested a suspect for the crime of murder in Novaliches, Quezon City.
Members of the Southern Police District (SPD) arrested a person for violating Section 5 of Republic Act 9262 or "Violence Against Women and Children." He was arrested along F.B. Harrison in Pasay City.
Another suspect was also collared for the same violation, and was arrested by authorities in Pilar Village in Las Piñas City. (NCRPO/RJB/JEG-PIA-NCR)
