DSWD, Parañaque target more families for 4Ps
PARAÑAQUE CITY, September 2 (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development-National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR) in cooperation with the city government of Parañaque is targeting 8,884 more potential households to be registered in the Set 6 of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) to be implemented this year.
In a statement, the identification of the additional potential beneficiaries was presented by the DSWD-NCR to Parañaque City Mayor Florencio Bernabe, Jr.
“We commend the DSWD for its concrete and continuing efforts to promote the welfare of citizens, especially the marginal sector,” Bernabe said.
He also reaffirmed the city government’s commitment of support to DSWD programs.
The additional potential households are distributed as follows: San Isidro (1,105); San Dionisio (857); Tambo (717); Baclaran (559); Sto. Niño (557); La Huerta (372); Don Galo (277); Vitalez (39); Moonwalk (1051); Marcelo Green (786); San Antonio (659); BF Homes (529); Sun Valley (456); Don Bosco (416); Merville (327); and San Martin de Porres (177).
Meanwhile, the DSWD-NCR recently conducted an orientation cum coordination meeting with the barangay chairpersons of covered barangays and Parañaque DSWD social workers to discuss the details of the scale-up.
As of August 15, 2012, around 1,244 are registered 4Ps household beneficiaries in the city. If all of the target potential households listed in the Set 6 Scale-up qualify, the number of registered beneficiaries will grow to 10,128.
The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) is a poverty reduction scheme that provides health, nutrition and education services to extremely poor families with children who are 0-14 years of age. (Paranaque-PIO/RJB/JEG-PIA-NCR)
