Taguig, TESDA treat students with free haircut
TAGUIG, June 4 (PIA) -- Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano today joins Education Secretary Armin Luistro and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General Joel Villanueva in welcoming students back to school by giving them free haircut.
Dubbed “Libreng Gupit sa Mag-Aaral Ngayong Pasukan Handog ng TESDA,” the program gives free haircut service to students of the Tenement Elementary School in West Bicutan, Taguig City.
In a release, Cayetano expressed her support to the said program, as well as similar initiatives to keep students interested in going to school.
The local chief has also given top priority to the education sector.
Aside from the P200 million scholarship program for this year, the current administration has been providing students in the city’s public schools free uniform, bags, shoes, and school supplies not only to ease the financial burden of their parents but also to encourage the youth to pursue their education.
