DOLE job fair offers 48,516 job vacancies
MANILA, JUNE 9 (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is all set for Independence Day job fair on Tuesday.
Dubbed as Kalayaan 2012 Job Fair, it will be conducted at the Lagoon Area, Rizal Park, Manila from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
In a news release, DOLE-NCR Regional Director Alan M. Macaraya said a total of 48,516 job vacancies both local and overseas await applicants.
The Philippine National Police will also be hiring 3,000 new police personnel and will be screening applicants during the job fair.
For local employment, there are opportunities coming from the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) & Call Center industry, Manufacturing and Marketing, Food Service, Retail & Trade, Health & Wellness, Real Estate, Information Technology, Insurance, Automotive, and Service industry.
For overseas employment, 30 duly licensed recruitment agencies confirmed to participate in the event bringing with them some 25,000 job orders coming from top destinations like Australia, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Brunei Darussalam.
Workers needed for overseas placement include the following: accountants, human resource practitioners, engineers, architects, chefs, aircon technicians, plumbers, pipefitters, welders, machine operators,bakers, cake decorator, denters, , hog raisers, factory workers, cleaners, waiters/waitresses, security guards, hairdressers, sales ladies, beauticians, occupational/ physical therapists, nurses, medical officers, nursing aide, Dental Cleaners, Carpenter finishing, masons, furniture assemblers, foremen, drivers, forklift operators, transit mixer operators, craftsmen, steel fixers, graphics designers, system analysts, IT professionals, web designers, and web developers.
Pre-employment documents can also be availed thru the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Social Security System (SSS), National Statistics Office (NSO), Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth and Philippine Postal Corporation.
The Technological Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will offer free haircut and massage to the public, and will showcase a skills demonstration on barista (coffee making) and flair tending (wine mixing).
Other government agencies like the the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA, Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) and Public Employment Service Officers Association of Metro Manila (PAMM) joined the Labor departmeny in mounting the preparationd for the Kalayaan 2012 job Fair.
Private sector support comes from Banco De Oro, Cobra Energy Drink, Globe, Max’s Restaurant, San Miguel Corp., Sykes, and the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Inc. (FFCCCII) and 140 participating employers.
Applicants are advised to bring their resume/biodata, copy of diploma, transcript of records, clearances (Police/NBI), employment certificates (if any), ID pictures and other documents like (TIN, SSS, Philhealth). (DOLE/RJB/SDL/PIA-NCR)
