Classes begin in Navotas smoothly

QUEZON CITY, June 4 (PIA) -- All 22 public elementary and secondary schools in Navotas City opened smoothly today, local officials said in a text message to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).
The Navotas Police Station said there was no untoward incident during the first hour of the schoolyear 2012-2013 as they heightened alert for traffic and safety.
Meanwhile, Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco assured all classrooms are clean through the Brigada Eskwela program.
He said Education Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro, FSC, and Navotas City Schools Acting Division Superintentent Aurelio Alfonso visited San Roque Elementary School where a new two-story schoolbuilding with six classrooms were constructed after a fire last year. (Navotas-PIO/RJB/JRCA-PIA NCR)
