Rizal LGU surpasses collection targets by 31% or total P630.67-M
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, July 3 (PIA) -- The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) of the Department of Finance (DOF) - Calabarzon cited the provincial treasurer of Rizal, Ma. Teresa Lasquety for surpassing the 2011 revenue collection targets from real property tax, business tax, fees and charges to economic enterprises.
Records from the provincial treasurer’s office show that the total collection for real property tax, non-tax revenues and business and other taxes exceeded by 31 percent or a total realized income of over P630.67 million.
According to Lasquety, real property tax collections came to a total of over P1.14 billion which was over P247 million or 28 percent above the target of P894.89 million. For sources from non-tax revenues such as fees and charges, the province attained the highest percentage of collection of 68 percent over the collection target of P383.05 million.
For economic enterprises, the actual collection of P142.13 million was 34 percent above the target. Actual collections for business and other taxes exceeded by P88.27 million or 16 percent above the baseline target of P552.86 million.
Another recognition was also given to Lasquety, then officer-in-charge for the provincial assessor office’s accomplishment of getting the 2nd highest percentage increase in the Total Taxable Assessed Valuation for 2011 among the provinces in Calabarzon.
The recognitions were an addition to the increasing list of national and international awards and citations received by the provincial government of Rizal and its officials for good governance and efficiency in administering the affairs of the province.
“We are extending our appreciation to our treasurer, Ma. Teresa Lasquety and her office staff for a job well done. We hope that this feat shall serve as inspiration for all of us in the government to strive harder and perform better in the service of our constituents,” Rizal Gov. Jun Ynares said.
