NAST to hold scientific meeting to assess Phl water situation by 2050

QUEZON CITY, July 4 (PIA) -- The National Academy of Science and Technology will hold the 34th Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) on July 11 and 12 at the Manila Hotel to tackle and assess current and prospective water situation of the country by 2050.

The two-day event, with the theme, “Philippine Water 2050,” will review water resources development plans for various regions and major urban centers by the departments or agencies for their perspective subsectors. Also to tackled in the meeting are long-term research, development agenda and recommendations to the executive and legislative bodies responsible for water resources planning and development.

The ASM is a yearly event of the NAST which serves as an avenue for presentations of new findings, researches, and scientific information. ASM will culminate in the formulation of policy recommendations on appropriate interventions for the government and private sector to accelerate and improve the realization of the goals for legislative and executive actions.
