Binay visits Filipino workers in Dubai

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Sept 19 -- Vice President Jejomar C. Binay made a stop-over in Dubai on June 23 on his way home from Saudi Arabia, where he personally extended the Philippine’s condolences for the death of Saudi Crown Prince Nayef.

Binay spoke and listened to the wards of the Filipino Workers Rehabilitation Center (FWRC) and headed to Fujairah to visit the Filipino community there, a statement from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

He also visited two Filipino seafarers who suffered severe burns when a gas tank on their vessel exploded last June.

DFA said the personnel of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai likewise briefed Binay on the status and working conditions of Filipinos in its jurisdiction.

The vice president also expressed his appreciation to the consulate and its personnel through a letter for all the assistance extended to him during his visit. (DFA)
