AGUSAN DEL NORTE, Jan. 24 (PIA) -- In support to the Swine Re-stocking Program, the Cabadbaran City government of this province recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Unit 13 (DA-RFU 13) as way of giving authority to the City Agriculture’s Office (CAO) to sell pigs.
The City Agriculture’s Office already received one boar/male swine and two female swine. These are expected to produce more local swine stocks that will also help the city’s funds increase.
The city government of Cabadbaran called on the public who are interested to put up a business like this to visit the secretariat of CAO to assist them and learn more about how to start this kind of business.
It was also learned that a 45-day piglet can be sold at P1,800.00; 46-50 days piglet at P2,000.00; and 51 days old piglet at P120.00 per kilo.
With this, it will help the program be more efficient to the farmers and backyard swine raisers because of easier access of its resources and it also ensures additional income.
The City Ordinance No. 2011-035 authored by SP Raykito M. Kittilstvedt was approved by the Sanggunaing Panlalawigan through the Sanggunian Resolution No. 299-2011 by BM Ernie M. Ceniza. (MSMonoy/PIA-Caraga)
