San Mateo passes ordinance to make businesses register with Pag-IBIG Fund
SAN MATEO, Isabela, August 3 (PIA) – The local government has passed an ordinance that will require businesses to register with Pag-IBIG Fund as a pre-requisite for issuance of business permits.
Vice Mayor Roberto Agcaoili said the passage of the ordinance assured the enrollment of all 1,500 business establishments in San Mateo and also the newly-opened businesses.

A Pag-IBIG Service Desk at the municipal hall was established to cater the needs of the members. The desk is manned daily by an employee of the LGU and twice a month by Pag-IBIG personnel.
LGU-San Mateo is the first among LGUs nationwide to assign their employee exclusively to operate a Pag-IBIG Service Desk.
Through the ordinance, a total of 715 new members were enrolled and the collection rose from to average 5 to 7 thousand pesos rose to P1 million. Remittance of monthly contribution, amortization and filing of multi-purpose loan became easier and faster for there is no need to go to Pag-IBIG Extension Office in Cauayan City.
Ordinance no. 2011-609 is known as “An Ordinance Requiring All Business Employers Applying for or Renewing their Business Permits to secure a Certificate of Employer Registration (COER) or Clearance from Pag-IBIG Fund.”
The Pag-Ibig Tuguegarao branch is currently coordinating with other LGUs for the passage of a similar ordinance. (SRA/PIA 2)
