TABUK CITY, Kalinga, Aug. 19 (PIA) -- Tabuk City Mayor Ferdinand B. Tubban rallies for clean surroundings and urged barangay officials to lead in the clearing of roadsides, canals and water ways this rainy season.

Stressing that floods and diseases could be avoided with clean surroundings, Tubban reiterated his campaign on “tapat ko, linis ko”, which he claims maybe a basic move but could prevent big problems.

The activity involves cutting of grasses on roadsides, collecting wastes and garbage dumped into the canals and water passages, particularly at public areas around the city.

Tubban said maintaining a clean environment does not only bring us a fresh city but more importantly, braces our school children from mosquito-borne diseases brought about by rain waters.

Tabuk is marked as dengue endemic area where most of the dengue-suspect cases in the province come from, based on figures of the provincial health office.

Tabuk could be free from all these health concerns, which Tubban believes could be prevented if officials and residents join hands towards that aim.

He said the city government and its officials are one in bringing the people all the ways for a healthy, peaceful and prosperous living in Tabuk.(LL/ PIA CAR,Kalinga )
