TABUK CITY, Kalinga, July 2 (PIA) -- The provincial government opened today a child-minding center at the provincial capitol building for school year 2012-2013.

The facility is intended for children and grandchildren of provincial government employees, who have to bring the children along because no one takes care of them at home.

Governor Jocel C. Baac said the center is equipped with complete day care facilities where these young children are enrolled for daycare classes.

Explaining the rationale of the project, Baac said it is advantageous to parents, whose work are no longer disrupted while the tots and children are in the center.

Baac said they understand the situation of mother-employees which prompted the provincial government to open the project.

There is no fee in the minding center and the local government has sought proper registration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to assure that its operation passed the required standard. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR,Kalinga)
