Surigao del Sur Tourism office set to conduct Consultation Workshop with Stakeholders

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur, Sept 19 (PIA) -- The Provincial Tourism Office of Surigao del Sur is set to conduct a consultation workshop with tourism stakeholders on September 20-21 at Shacene Pension House, Mabua, Tandag City.

Nicolas Sonsona, officer in charge of Provincial Tourism Office, said the workshop consultation is an initial step in drawing inputs from industry partners to come up with a comprehensive Provincial Tourism Master Plan for 2013-2020.

Participants are active partners from national government agencies; the president of the province Hotel & Restaurant Association; tour operators; tour guides; transport sector; resort operators; community social organizations and chairpersons on Tourism Council including the chair of the tourism committee of local government units, and many more.

Environmental considerations for the development of tourism areas will be tackled on the first day, including the access and connectivity to identified tourist spots.

In Surigao del Sur, the “Enchanted River” in Hinatuan, the “Tinuy-an Falls” in Bislig City, the Cagwait Beach and the Britania Islands are some of the many prospect tourist spots that have already attracted numerous foreign and local tourists to visit, and made the province famous.
