DA urges project beneficiaries to fast track documents for fund release

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato, Sept. 6 (PIA) -- The Department of Agriculture 12 has recently called the attention of the beneficiaries of various agricultural projects, particularly farm-to-market roads (FMRs) to hasten the processing of their papers for the fund transfer, if and when they opted to adopt the modality.

This after the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has ordered all government agencies to fast track the consumption of government funds by September 30 of this year.

DA 12 Regional Executive Director Amalia Jayag-Datukan said the DBM has set September 30 as the deadline for the obligation of funds.

“If we can’t obligate our allotments before the said cut-off date, DBM will be forced to negate the said allocations and will be given to other agencies,” Datukan explained.

Addressing the project recipients, Datukan said, “you need to finish all the requirements for publication and have the Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs) signed by the involved and authorized parties.

“Strict implementation of these projects is urged since we have time frame to catch up,” Datukan said encouraging all the local government units (LGUs) identified to have allocations for FMRs.

This, she added would also give time for DA 12 to prepare its annual procurement plan for 2013.

LGUs were given until September 15 to complete and submit all the requirements, otherwise, they will be included in the waiting list of the DBM for next year.

DA 12 has a total budget allotment of more than P700 million for this year and P1.2 billion for 2013 for the implementation of the Agri-Pinoy banner programs for rice, corn, livestock and high value commercial crops as well as DA’s special projects. (DEDoguiles-PIA 12/Lito M.Salvo-DA 12)
