New school chairs given to Sto.Tomas, DavNor schools
TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte, June 11 (PIA) -- New yellow school chairs were given to two schools in the municipality of Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte on June 1.
Mayor Rey T. Uy personally delivered 185 yellow school chairs to Kinamayan Elementary School and 75 chairs in Balisong Elementary School.
In early May, about 195 school chairs were also sent to Talisay Elementary School in Batangas, the first school outside Davao Region, to benefit in the Care for School Chairs (CFSC) Program.
Again, on May 25, another request for school chairs from the municipality of Camiling, Tarlac were granted with 200 school chairs to be used for the district composed of five barangay schools - Bacabac, Cayaoan, Libueg, Pindangan 1st, and Pindangan 2nd.
The mayor facilitated the hauling of chairs to be delivered to Tarlac plus 79 pieces more.
The new school chairs were made from the confiscated logs and fabricated by the local government unit (LGU) of Tagum.
Different schools even outside City of Tagum also received school furniture such as armchairs, kiddie tables, kiddie chairs, desk, benches, bookshelves, rostrums, double-deck beds, hospital beds, computer tables, teacher’s tables, working tables, and home economic tables, etc. The CFSC has been known nationwide because of its impressive and remarkable cause of augmenting the school fixture shortages in the region.
At present, LGU Tagum, through the Care for School Chairs Program had already delivered 45,815 pieces of new chairs since its conception in August 2011: Davao del Norte with 31, 889 chairs; Davao del Sur and Davao City with 743 chairs; Compostela Valley with 12,709; and in Luzon with 474.
