ILIGAN CITY, Lanao del Norte, Aug 8 (PIA) -- Eighty five video karera and similar machines used in illegal gamilbing were destroyed in Camp Tomas Cabili Compound in Barangay Tipanoy, Iligan City.

Mayor Lawrence Cruz led the destruction of machines, together with City Councilors Moises Dalisay Jr., Providencio Abragan Jr., and authorities of the Iligan City Police Office under PSr. Supt. Celso Regencia.

Regencia said the machines were confiscated during police operations against illegal gambling from different barangays in Iligan City from January to July 2012.

Cruz urged law enforcers to continue operations against illegal gambling. He also encouraged police officers to file charges against house owners where video-karera machines are found to discourage other residents from putting up gambling machines and stop illegal gambling.
