Bukidnon allots P4.475 million for Lantapan schoolrooms repairs

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon, July 19 (PIA) -- The provincial government of Bukidnon handed out P4.475 million to fund classrooms repairs in Lantapan Elementary School.

Governor Alex P. Calingasan, in his recent visit to Lantapan, said there is really a need for monetary aid as the old buildings are found to have now leaking roofs, dingy paints and dilapidated ceilings.

Calingasan said in his speech that he is also giving out P2 million for the construction of covered court of Lantapan National High School and 200,000 for repairs of the secondary school’s deteriorating structures.

“Construction of covered courts in schools is one of the priority projects of the provincial government because this facility has all-around use. Covered courts can even temporarily accommodate hundreds of homeless people in times of emergencies or calamities,” he said.

He added that this project is part of the local government units’ support to the national government’s efforts in improving the quality and efficiency of basic education as the country implements the Enhanced K+12 Basic Education System. (Fredelyn L. Ragandang/PGO, PAIA/RLRB, PIA 10 Bukidnon)
