DOLE turns over P185,000 SPES fund
ILIGAN CITY, May 30 – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) turned over a check worth of P185,000 for the beneficiaries of the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) held during the National Flag Day celebration at Rizal Park, this city.
The check was turned over by Franz Maniquez, a representative of DOLE-Iligan to Acting Mayor Henry Dy and City Councilors Providencio “Bong” Abragan, Jr. and Marlene Young.
It was learned that this is an initial release from the P500,000 allocation of DOLE for SPES or better known as ‘summer job’ for 2012.
SPES is an annual employment program of DOLE and the city of Iligan as back-to-school assistance to students for enrolment and purchase of school supplies. (Melvin T. Anggot and Virgilio C. Garcia/CIO/PIA10)
