Cebuano News: Kaso sa dengue mikunhod sa 80.61% sa Mis. Occ.

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental, Hunyo 6 (PIA) -- Samtang misaka sa 36.74 porsiyento ang kaso sa dengue sa rehiyon 10, gikan sa Enero 1 ngadto sa Hunyo 1, ning tuig, mikunhod kini sa 80.61 porsiyento sa probinsiya sa Misamis Occidental, sulod sa maong pahahon.

Kini ang gipakita sa Dengue Morbidity Report sa ika-22 nga semana sa 2012, nga gisumite ni Dr. David Mendoza, Head of the Regional Epidemiology, Surveillance and Disaster Response Unit (RESDRU) sa DOH kun Department of Health-Center for Health Development, region 10 (DOH-CHD-10).

Usab ang mga pangidaron sa nataptan niini nagatumbok niadtong may pangidaron nga ubos sa lima ka tuig paingon sa 14 anyos.

Sa laing bahin, mikabat sa 38 ka mga kaso sa dengue ang natala sa Misamis Occidental, mikunhod ngadto sa 80.61 porsiyento, itandi sa 196 sa susamang panahon sa tuig 2011.

sa Tangub City, gikan sa 53 ngadto sa upat ka kaso, mikunhod ngadto sa 92.45 porsiyento.

Sa Ozamiz City, gikan sa 67 ngadto sa 13 ka kaso, mikunhod ngadto sa 80.60 porsiyento.

SA Oroquieta City, gikan sa 17 ngadto sa walo ka kaso, mikunhod ngadto sa 52.04 porsiyento.

Sumala pa usab sa taho ni Mendoza, ang labing-daghang kaso sa dengue, didto mahitala sa probinsiya sa Misamis Oriental nga adunay 864 ka kaso.

Gisundan kini sa probinsiya sa Bukidnon nga may 116 ka kaso, Lanao del Norte nga 88 ka mga kaso, Misamis Occidental nga adunay 38 ka mga kaso, ug Camiguin, nga adunay tulo ka mga kaso.

Usab sa siyam ka mga siyudad sa rehiyon 10, ang Cagayan de Oro City ang mitala sa labing daghan nga kaso sa dengue nga adunay 595 ka mga kaso.

Gisundan kini sa Iligan City, nga adunay 59 ka mga kaso, Gingoog City, 33 ka mga kaso, Valencia City, 26 ka mga kaso, El Salvador City, nga adunay siyam ka mga kaso, Malabalay City, nga adunay walo ka mga kaso, Oroquieta City, nga adunay laing walo ka mga kaso ug Tangub City, nga adunay upat lamang ka mga kaso. While the number of dengue cases in region 10 went up to 36.74 percent during the period January 1 to June 1, this year, the dengue cases in Misamis Occidental went down by 80.61 percent, during the same period.
This data is shown in the 2012 Dengue Morbidity Report for the 22nd Week, submitted by Dr. David Mendoza, Head of the Regional Epidemiology, Surveillance and Disaster Response Unit (RESDRU) of the Department of Health-Center for Health Development, region 10 (DOH-CHD-10).
“Based on the yearly trending, however, we will be expecting more cases of dengue, this year, compared to last year,” Mendoza said.
Thus, the local government units should be strengthening their anti-dengue campaign to reduce, if not eliminate, the incidence of the dengue occurrence in their areas.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,109 dengue cases were admitted to different sentinel hospitals in Northern Mindanao, from January 1 to June 1, 2012, higher by 36.74 percent compared to 811 cases in the same period, last year.
Among the age groups, those with the age range of below 5-14 years of age had the highest CFR of 0.42 percent.
Meanwhile, a total of 38 dengue cases were noted in Misamis Occidental, lower by 80.61 percent compared to the 196 dengue cases noted in the province, during the same period in 2011.
Mendoza’s report also show the same observation in Mis. Occ.’s three (3) cities, namely: Tangub, from 53 to four (4) cases or down by 92.45 percent, Ozamiz, from 67 to 13 cases or down by 80.60 percent and Oroquieta City, from 17 to eight (8) cases or down by 52.94 percent.
Most of the cases were from the following provinces: Misamis Oriental 864 cases, Bukidnon, 116 cases, Lanao del Norte, 88 cases, Misamis Occidental, 38 cases and Camiguin, the lowest with three (3) cases.
Among the region’s nine cities, Cagayan de Oro has the highest number of 595 cases, followed by Iligan, 59 cases, Gingoog, 33 cases, Valencia, 26 cases, Ozamiz, 13 cases, El Salvador, 9 cases, Malaybalay and Oroquieta, eight (8) cases, each and lowest in Tangub with only four (4) cases.
