NCIP-Ifugao funds 2 projects in Asipulo
ASIPULO, Ifugao, June 7 (PIA) -- The National Commission of Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) here awarded the local government here recently a total amount of P950,000 to fund two projects in the area.
A check amounting to P750,000 was turned over by NCIP for the construction of a replica of the native house museum and P200,000 for the rehabilitation of the Duli-Cababuyan hanging bridge located at Barangay Duli here.
Giselle Luglug of the NCIP said that the museum will be constructed beside the municipal building where artifacts of the town will be displayed for public viewing.
The rehabilitation of the hanging bridge, on the other hand, was approved by the Commission and funded by the Ancestral Domain Office of the NCIP.
These projects were in accordance to the Ancestral Domain Sustainable Development and Protective Plan of the Municipality and Asipulo is the convergence area for the development work of the NCIP for the region and Region I, she said.
Among those present during the awarding of check held during the LGU's flag raising ceremony were Mayor Eladio Bang-ud, Vice Mayor Tomas Pullupul, Provincial Officer Esther Licnachan and Administrative Officer IV Doreen Pawell, and Community Development Officer Eufemia Domilod.
