DOLE-9 announces 13,000 available jobs on Labor Day
ZAMBOANGA CITY, April 27 (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-9) announced that 13,000 jobs are at stake for this year’s Labor Day Job Fair.
DOLE regional director Sisinio Cano, during a press conference last April 24, said there are at least 40 agencies who will be participating in the job fair which will be conducted at the Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) gymnasium, 10 of which are overseas placement agencies while the remaining 30 agencies offer local employment.
The bulk of these vacancies are for overseas deployment, at least 12,000, according to him.
He said the jobs range from blue collar jobs like factory workers, domestic helpers, drivers, service crews and sales ladies to professional jobs like engineers, teachers and managerial positions.
Cano pointed that majority of these vacancies are from the middle east countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates (UAE) and from Southeast Asian countries like Singapore and Malaysia.
The remaining 1,000 jobs will be deployed locally, Cano furthered.
Interested applicants for the May 1 job fair may pre-register with the Public Employment Service Office, Cano said. (JPA/MVC-PIA9 ZBST)
