DOLE- 8 to spearhead provincial consultation on wage issue

MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte, June 16 (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Regional Office will spearhead a provincial consultation on the wage issue in Southern Leyte.

“ The wage consultation is a part of our review functions consistent with the mandates of Republic Act 6727, also known as Wage Rationalization Act, ” OIC Regional Tripartite Wages and Regulatory Board (RTWPB) Chairman, Regional Director Exequiel Sarcauga disclosed in a letter invitation.

The Regional Board scheduled a “Consultation on the Wage Issue” on June 22 at Maasin Country Lodge in Maasin City, he said.

Dir. Sarcuaga further said “ the results of this Wage Consultation will be collated with the results of other consultations we are going to hold in other parts of the region.”

The RTWPB has set P253 daily wage rate for the province of Southern Leyte among other categories, DOLE SoLeyte senior staff Mario Tictic said.

Tictic said the provincial wage consultation will be participated by at least three groups: the labor groups, management, and the government agency stakeholders. (PIA 8, SoLeyte)
