ESamar PNP raises "Blue Alert" for Labor Day celebration
BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar, May 2 (PIA) -- As ordered by the Philippine National Police (PNP), Regional Office-08 Campetic, Palo, Leyte, the PNP Provincial Office here raised the heightened alert for all its municipal police offices in connection with yesterday’s observance of Labor Day.
So said PNP Provincial Director, SSupt. Manuel E. Cubillo in an interview.
According to him, the heightened alert or “Blue Alert” in PNP parlance means all members of the police force to be on the alert for any atrocity or surprise attack of the enemy side of the government.
Cubillo also admitted that the PNP could again feel the presence of CPP-NPAs as they have been receiving reports of several killings of former NPA members and leaders. These atrocities, he said, give out the signal to NPAs that they should never return to the folds of law, lest they get the same verdict.
This report, Cubillo said, suffice for them to be always ready for any consequence, particularly in times like Labor Day celebrations.
Generally however, Labor Day in Eastern Samar was observed peacefully.(EOPT/AFC/aen-PIA 8, Eastern Samar)
