Mt. Province uses LGSF to improve provincial road
BONTOC, Mt. Province, May 6 (PIA) -- The provincial government will concrete a portion of the Besao-Sagada provincial road using the P5 million it received from the Department of Interior and Local Government as Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) for passing the Seal of Good Housekeeping.
The provincial government was given the Seal of Good Housekeeping last year qualifying it as a recipient of the Local Government Support Fund in the amount of P5 million. Based on the implementing guidelines, the LGSF can be utilized for priority projects like water systems and road repairs .
The Besao-Sagada provincial road is an extension of the Sagada national road which is connected to the Bontoc-Baguio national road popularly called the Halsema Highway.
The road, when improved, is expected to lure more tourists visiting the mountain resort town of Sagada to go to nearby Besao municipality which also offers many attractions. (JBS-PIA CAR- Mt. Province)
