Parts of Leyte to experience power interruption on July 7 and 10
TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, July 6 (PIA) -- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) served notice of the scheduled power shutdown of some of its transmission facilities in some parts of Leyte province on July 7 and July 10.
Elmer Cruz of the NGCP Visayas said that from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., power shutdown will be experienced by consumers in the franchise area of the Leyte II Electric Cooperative, Inc. or LEYECO II.
This is due to the preventive maintenance along Ormoc-Babatngon 138kV transmission line and replacement of poles along Palo-Tacloban 69kV transmission line.
Meanwhile, on June 10, power shutdown will also be experienced in the service area of Don Orestes Romualdez Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DORELCO) between 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. due to switching of load in line with the maintenance activity along Mabuhay-Sogod 69kV transmis-sion line.
Cruz said that specific cities and municipalities to be affected by the power interruption are determined by the above-mentioned Distribution Utility (DU), unless the activity affects the entire franchise area. The DU allots the available power within its franchise area and implements the power interruption schedule among the end-users.
Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion, Cruz said. NGCP’s customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption. (PIA 8)
