NGCP sets power interruption in parts of Leyte on June 9
TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, June 8 (PIA) -- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) is scheduling a shutdown of some of its transmission facilities in some parts of the province of Leyte on Saturday, June 9.
Elmer Cruz, corporate communications officer for the Visayas, informed Philippine Information Agency that on June 9, power interruption will be experienced from 6:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. by the consumers in the franchise area of Leyte IV Electric Cooperative, Inc. or LEYECO IV.
Cruz said this is due to the replacement of wood poles along the Baybay-Maasin 69-kV transmission line and preventive maintenance of circuit breaker at Hilongos, Leyte.
Also on the same date, for about 20 minutes, between 5:00 p.m. to 6: p.m., power interruption will be experienced by the consumers in the franchise area of LEYECO V due to the normalization of load, in line with replacement of wood poles along the Baybay-Maasin 69-kV transmission line, Cruz said.
Cruz said that the specific cities and municipalities to be affected by the power interruption are determined by the above-mentioned distribution utility (DU), unless the activity affects the entire franchise area.
The DU allots the available power within its franchise area and implements the power interruption schedule among the end-users, Mr. Cruz added.
NGCP assured that normal operations will immediately resume after work completion and advised the general to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption. (PIA-8)
