Kalayaan jobs and livelihood fair highlights 114th Independence Day fete
ORMOC CITY Leyte, June 8 (PIA) -- In line with the 114th Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 12, the Department of Labor and Employment Region 8, in coordination with the city government of Ormoc and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), is set to conduct a “Kalayaan Jobs and Livelihood Fair” at Ormoc Superdome, Ormoc City.
Various private establishments coming from Cebu City were invited to conduct interview for those interested applicants willing to be assigned in Cebu City, Director Exequiel Sarcauga said.
So far, 21 employers from Cebu City that urgently need to hire people from Eastern Visayas who are willing to work in Cebu City have been invited, the DOLE Director said.
Overseas employment opportunities may also be availed during this job fair.
POEA Regional Coodinator, Rosario Jervoso has invited three legitimate overseas recruitment agencies coming from Tacloban City and Ormoc City.
Director Sarcauga disclosed that National Government Agencies were also invited to render services that are related to employment. These agencies include the National Statistics Office, PhilHealth, Social Security System, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Regulatory Commission, PAGIBIG, and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The DOLE Regional Director called on all jobseekers in Ormoc and in the entire Eastern Visayas Region to take this opportunity to find employment.
Director Sarcauga advised jobseekers to come in their appropriate attire and should bring along with them the documentary requirements such as resume.
Applicants for multiple jobs must bring many copies of their documentary requirements, Director Sarcauga added. (PIA 8)
