DUMAGUETE CITY, August 3 (PIA) -- Nine administrative staff of the Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) participated in a national seminar-workshop conducted by the National Archive of the Philippines (NAP).

The NORSU staff joined about 1,000 archivists from government offices around the country for the three-day national workshop on Basic Records and Archives Management at Hotel Veniz in Baguio City from July 24 to 26.

The activity provided participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement the required policies on records creation and maintenance, records use and control, and its disposition.

NAP or the Pambansang Sinupan ng Pilipinas is the leading government agency in the protection and rationalization of records-keeping in the country.

This agency is tasked to ensure that documents and records are preserved and are accessible to public and to preserve the primary sources of information on Philippine history, cultural heritage and collective memory.

The participants from NORSU were: Ariel Cornelia, Juanita Dizon, Jake Jaictin, Rosielyn Julom, Marylou Nocete and Dindo de la Peña from Dumaguete Campus; Susie Carvajal and Meriam Mercado from Guihulngan Campus; and Elicia Deguit from Bais Campus.
