CEBU CITY, June 5 (PIA) --- PhilHealth Region 7 hired 31 registered nurses who attended a comprehensive training on PhilHealth policies and programs so as to effectively assist PhilHealth members regarding their membership, especially in availing of benefits and filing of benefit claims in PhilHealth accredited hospitals.

After a month of deployment, the registered nurses hired under the PhilHealth Customer Assistance, Relations, and Empowerment Staff (CARES) Project have facilitated a number of members’ concerns as they availed of their benefits in hospitals.

The primary objective of the PhilHealth CARES project is to entertain the concerns of the members and empower them by providing essential information on benefits, membership, eligibility, accreditation process, and other PhilHealth-related concerns.

Some of these nurses are permanently deployed while others go on a weekly or monthly rotation in hospitals.

They are also equipped to educate members on the importance of commitment to the sustainability of the National Health Insurance Program and to conduct surveys and studies developed by PhilHealth.

Currently, the PhilHealth CARES attend to members in 23 hospitals in Cebu province and in seven hospitals both in Bohol and Oriental Negros.(HFG-PIA 7/PhilHealth)
