Thousand scholars avail educational assistance program
NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, July 5 (PIA) -- A total of 1,976 college students and 52 masters’ degree scholars in the sixth district of Negros Occidental are beneficiaries of the Congressional Educational Assistance Program (CEAP).
Beneficiaries of the assistance were the Bantayan National High School, Tampalon NHS, Tabugon NHS in Kabankalan City, Gil Montilla National High School-Manlucahoc Extension, Barasbarasan Elementary School and Dungga Elementary School in Sipalay City.
School supplies like notebooks, pencils, crayon, pad paper and erasers were given to elementary and high schools students in far-flung baranagays in the sixth district before the opening of classes.
IT equipment like LCD projectors with screens, computers and printers as well as drum and bugle instruments were also delivered as educational aid.
The CEAP is funded by Rep. Mercedes Alvarez (Neg.Occ., 6th Dist.) Priority Development Assistance Fund and is implementated by the Commission on Higher Education, local government units and the Negros State College of Agriculture.
The sixth district of Negros Occidental is composed of the cities of Kabankalan and Sipalay and the municipalities of Ilog, Candoni, Cauayan and Hinoba-an located at the southern area of Negros Occidental. (Rep. Alvarez’s Office/CD/JCM-PIA6)
