Physically handicapped Silay residents receive early Christmas
SILAY CITY, Negros Occidental, May 16 (PIA6) -- Around 44 wheelchairs were distributed to indigent Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) residents of Silay City from May 5, 2011 to April 18, 2012 by the city government.
In a release it said that the city is also continuously giving canes, walking aids and crutches to the poor and physically disabled residents through the Outreach Communication and Research Services under the Project Compassion or PROCOM.
Thirty percent of the recipients of this project are the youths while seventy percent are senior citizens.
Since 2011, the city has given seventeen canes, five walking aids and five crutches to the recepients.
Silay City is located on the north western part of the island of Negros and 14 kilometers away from Bacolod City. (Silay City/CD/jcm/PIA6)
