NSO holds forum on Survey of Enterprises in Capiz
ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Aug 17 (PIA) -- The National Statistics Office (NSO) in Capiz held a forum on the 2011 Survey of Enterprises in the Philippines (SEP) on August 16 to orient survey respondents on how to fill up the survey form.
“In Capiz, there are 57 sample respondents who will provide related as well as needed survey information for the calendar year 2011,” said NSO-Capiz Provincial Statistics Officer Frankie Dordas, engineer.
There are about 5,000 enterprises in the province.
Dordas said all questionnaires must be submitted at the NSO Provincial Office on or before October 31 this year to give way on the review for the completeness and consistency of entries.
During the forum, a video clip of NSO administrator Carmelita N. Ericta’s message in view of SEP was presented before survey respondents.
The NSO administrator said the survey result will be used to provide reliable estimates of total income, value added, gross fixed capital formation and total non-financial assets of the financial and non-financial corporations needed to complete the compilation of the accounts for the Philippine System of National Accounts (PSNA).
“It will also identify on a national and regional level the structure of enterprises, the legal and statistical units within the enterprise and their link to the owned and controlled establishments or economic units,” she added.
The 2011 SEP is the first survey to collect financial data and information to derive output, value added and gross fixed capital formation of the financial and non-financial sectors of the economy. These are to be used to improve compilation of the PSNA.
An open forum was also held to clear out issues and concerns particularly in the filling up of survey forms. (JCM/AAL-PIA6 Capiz)
