Arroyo assures public of orderly elections in 2004

  • President Arroyo assured the public yesterday that there will be orderly elections next year, though she did not elaborate how she will do it.
  • The President is expected to return to Rosario, Cavite tomorrow to distribute certificates of occupancy and the actual keys to 141 out of 500 completed units to beneficiaries of "GMA Abot-Kayang Pabahay at Palupa" program of the Philippine National Oil Company.

Troops, MILF rebels clash in Sultan Kudarat

  • The death toll from two days of fighting between Muslim rebels and government troops rose to 10 on Saturday as the two sides battled for control of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat in Mindanao.

US issues travel advisory for Philippines

  • The US State Department issued a warning to Americans traveling to or residing in the Philippines to exercise great caution and maintain heightened security awareness.
