Cauayan City permit office to put up one-stop shop for business permits

Cauayan City, Isabela (17 November) -- The City Permit and Licensing Office here is planning to put up a one-stop shop area within the city premises to cater to the speedy processing and issuance of business permits come January next year.

The one stop-shop will be composed of office representatives from the different offices to issue needed documents in processing business permits which are usually secured by businessmen operating in the city.

The offices that usually participate in the issuance of business permits are the Social Security System (SSS), City Treasurer which issues Community Tax Certificate, City Health Office ((CHO) for sanitary permit, City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) which issues environment permit and some other offices involved in the processing of documents required in the renewal of business permits.

City Permit and Licensing Office chief Elena Quilang said this initiative of her office is annually formed at the city hall's lobby especially during the first quarter of each year where business permits are being renewed.

Quilang said this one-stop shop would ease the burden of business owners in securing documents from other offices which are too distant from the city hall if representatives of offices like SSS, health office, environment office and others, would be in one place there will be speedy processing of permits and licenses.

The licensing chief said it is expected that during 1st to 3rd month of the year, when the city government is requiring business establishments, including tricycle operators to renew their respective business permits, they will swamp the city hall with applications for business permits.

The city government is also expected to raise their tax collections to fund its operations next year.

The permits and licensing office is one division of City Treasurer that is responsible in the regulation of business operations of businesses in the city. (PIA Isabela) [top]
