Feature: Dinagat Islands now on world wide web

by Yvan Melody Cocon

Butuan City (8 April) -- Coping with the other LGUs who are now having their respective official websites, the Province of Dinagat Islands and its municipalities make sure that they will not be left behind.

After the province-wide Web Upgrading Workshop (WUW) conducted on January 28-30, 2008 under the partnership of the Province of Dinagat Islands and National Computer Center (NCC), their official websites can now be accessed.

One may browse its LGU Official Website to know more about what their place can offer. For the Province of Dinagat Islands, the website is www.dinagatislands.gov.ph; Municipality of San Jose, www.sanjosedi.gov.ph; Municipality of Tubajon, www.tubajon.gov.ph; Municipality of Libjo, www.libjodinagatislands.gov.ph.

Webmasters of these four municipalities are participants of the workshop who work extensively to put their sites online, following the Citizen – Centric Structure which being taught to them during the workshop.

Each of the four websites contains information that caters to the needs of the residents, visitors and investors. It uses Joomla Content Management System.

To date, the said websites are already functional and many more sites to come soon as the other LGU webmasters are still on the development stage.

With this development, it would make their magnificent islands known not only to Caraga Region but as well as worldwide. (NCC-13/PIA-13) [top]
