Infra remains top priority in South Cotabato 2010 AIP

Koronadal City (27 November) -- South Cotabato's 2010 Annual Investment Plan (AIP) has a whooping budget of P128,685,000, comprising about 65.79% of the province total budget allocation.

According to a report, the biggest share of the province's budget was obligated to Infrastructure Development with a budget of P50,000,000 with sector Infrastructure Program for the Delivery of Basic Services having a good share.

Accordingly, this was due to increased rains that hit the province on a year-round basis, causing floods which resulted to damages to agricultural crops, properties and public infrastructure facilities,

P38,300,000 is likewise allocated for the Construction/Repair Improvement of Infrastructure Facilities including Barangay Halls, School Building, Mini-gymnasium, Solar Driers and Covered Court, specifically of Lamsugod Elementary School, in Surallah.

For the Construction/Repair of Provincial Roads, Bridges and other Infrastructures, P20,000,000 is allotted for the concreting of the Concepcion-Tampakan Road (Koronadal City) and the Junction Poblacion Norala and Guinsang-an Road (Norala), which have an equal budget of P10,000,000 each.

The other component of Infrastructure Development and their respective budget allocation are as follow: Repair and Maintenance of Provincial Roads and Bridges (P10,000,000), Barangay Service Vehicle (P5,400,000), Rural Development and Support Infrastructure (P2,985,000) and Water Supply and Sanitation Program (P2,000,000).
