DTI recognizes consumer-friendly stores in Pangasinan
Dagupan City (11 November) -- The Department of Trade and Industry has awarded Silver Seal recognition to 14 consumer-friendly stores for 2009.
DTI Provincial Director Peter O. Mangabat said the DTI Certified Establishments (DTI-CE) program which started in 2006 aimed to encourage business establishments to adopt self-policing mechanism that promotes and fosters the highest level of business ethics and uphold a fair and honest market place.
The Silver Seal certification were issued to the Addessa Corporation branches in Mangaldan, Manaoag, Tayug and Dagupan, Guanzon Merchandizing Corporation -Motorcycle, Cellphone Sales and Service Center, QSL Electronics Sales and Service Center, BHF Family Plaza, Inc., CJ. Fernandez Enterprises, Inc., E-Locandia Electronics, Airconditioning & Refrigeration Services and Electromen Electronics Service Center, AikonTech Corporation-Dagupan.
The accredited firms were trained to handle complaints thru their Consumer Welfare desk. They are required to display the DTI-CE at the entrance of or any conspicuous place within the store premises.
Establishments eligible for the program are department stores, appliance centers, hardware stores, repair/service shops and specialty stores. Establishments with the DTI-CE seal sell products that are Products Standards certified and therefore assure consumers of quality and reliable products, he said. (DTI/PIA-Pangasinan) [top]
