Asian-American Lions Club proposes medical-surgical mission in 2009

Negros Occidental (7 December) -- Gov. Joseph G. Maraņon met with officers and members of the Alexandria Asian-American Lions Club of Virginia, USA led by Rudy Concepcion who proposed to conduct a Medica-Surgical Mission at the Teresita Jalandoni Memorial Provincial Hospital in Silay City in 2009.

The team was accompanied by Jimmy Golez who disclosed that they will be bringing in a delegation of some 40 persons who will conduct major and minor operations, such as goiter and cataract removal as well as dental procedure for the benefit of the less fortunate Negrenses.

They will also be giving out eyeglasses for free during the mission. (Capitol News/PIA) [top]
