Nationwide voter turnout at 75%

Davao City (15 May) -- Data from the Comelec showed that average national voter turnout stood at 75 percent. The same data released through Comelec's special action committee under Director Adolfo A. Ibaņez showed that voter turn were highest in four regions. These are: Region 1 - Ilocos (82 to 83 percent), Region 5 - Bicol (80 to 85 percent), Region 10 - Northern Mindanao (80 to 85 percent) and Region 11 - Davao (80 percent).

Meanwhile, seven regions got a 75 to 80 percent voter turn out. These are: The Cordillera Administrative Region, Region 2 - Cagayan Valley, Region 3 - Central Luzon, Region 4 - Calabarzon and Mimaropa, Region 7 - Central Visayas, Region 8 - Eastern Visayas and Region 12 - Soccsksargen.

The National Capital Region and the Caraga Region got 70 to 75 percent voter turn out.

The lowest voter turn out are in Region 6 - Western Visayas and Region 9 - Zambonga Peninsula, which both delivered 65 to 75 percent votes. (PIA) [top]
