PGMA pushes swift justice for Campbell's death
Manila (24 April) -- The President wants swift resolve of US Peace Corps Volunteer Julia Campbell's death as she pushes authorities investigating the case to bring to justice the culprit.
Amidst this issue, the Chief Executive gave assurance that the Philippines would remain a safe place for US Peace Corps members and other foreigners involved in voluntary civic works.
In this effort, local authorities have been directed to come up with some procedures to ensure the protection of foreign workers, especially in remote municipalities.
In fact, the Banaue local tourism authorities are now implementing a new guideline for visitors to the rice terraces to prevent the repeat of a similar incident. (PIA-MMIO) [top]
