Trainings

The Center conducted the following trainings for the past 20 years:

• Conducted the ASEAN Training on Effective Management Skills in Preventive Drug Education (PDE) for Program Managers on June 17-21, 1996, Sulo Hotel, Quezon City, Philippines
• Organized the Third ASEAN-EC Workshop on the Validation of the Evaluation Instruments for DAPE Programs at the Sulo Hotel, Quezon City, Philippines, October 23-27, 1995
• Conducted the Third National Seminar-Workshop on the Development and Validation of Evaluation Instruments for DAPE Programs, UP ISMED Building, Quezon City, March 13-15, 1995
• Organized the ASEAN Seminar-Workshop on Parent-Youth Movement Against Drug Abuse, January 23-27, 1995
• Organized the study-observation of DAP scholars of the Colombo Plan Bureau in 1994

Research and Evalution

• Conducted a research entitled, "UNDCP/WHO Global Initiative on Primary Prevention of Substance Abuse: Baseline Assessment" commissioned by the World Health Organization on June 2001 to September 2001
• Proposed a research entitled, "State-of-the-Art Review of Preventive Drug Education in the ASEAN Region" in 2000
• Developed and validated Training Modules on Preventive Drug Education for Teachers, Parents, Guidance Counselors, and Health Workers in 1999
• Developed and validated Trainnig Modules on Effective Management Skills in Preventive Drug Education in 1997-1998
• Conducted ASEAN-ICDAPS-UNESCO Evaluation Study on Preventive Drug Education Programs in the Asian Region from January 1995 to June 1996
• Conducted the ASEAN-DDB Public Opinions and Perceptions on Drug Abuse Prevention Program: Bases for Policy and Decision-Making, January-December 1996
• Field-tested the ASEAN-ICDAPS-UNESCO questionnaires on the Study of Preventive Drug Education Programs in Six Asian Countries, March to December 1995
• Conducted the ASEAN-EC Development and Validation of Evaluation Instruments for DAPE Programs, 1992-1996

Development And Publication Of Instructional Materials

• Developed and published Training Modules on Effective Management Skills for Program Managers in PDE and Modules for Teachers, Parents, Guidance Counselors,, and Health Workers.
• Published the bi-annual ATCPDE Bulletin. Publication started June 1996
• Developed and produced the ASEAN Evaluation Instruments on DAPE Programs, 1992 - 1996
• Organized the Workshop on the Development of a Manual for Drug Abuse Prevention Education and Community Information, March 14 - 24, 1988
• Organized the Seminars to integrate Preventive Drug Education in the curriculum for Teacher Educators and Curriculum Designers, May 3 - 15, 1982; September 10 - 30, 1979; and August 11 - 30, 1975

Technical Assistance

• Provided technical assistance to the Monitoring and Evaluation of the ASEAN-EC Projects in Preventive Drug Education (D-ASN-90/38 and D-ASN-90/39), Parent-Youth movement Against Drug Abuse and Strengthening Drug Information and Education Against Drug Abuse, January 1994 to June 1998
• Participated in the ASEAN Conference on the Role of Policy Educators and Media in Drug Abuse Prevention in Schools, May 28 - 30, 1995
• Participated in the European Regional Conference on Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Health in Helsinki, Finland on May 29 - 31, 1995
• Served as consultant in the Second ICDAPS-DDB Regional Workshop and Conference on the Role of Educators, Police, and Media Practitioners in Drug Prevention in Schools in Imus Sports Center, Imus, Cavite on May 1 - 5, 1995
• Provided technical assistance to the Thailand and Brunei Darussalam Second National Seminar-Workshop on the Development and Validation of Evaluation Instruments for Drug Abuse Prevention Education Programs, 1994 - 1995

Special Projects

• Coordinated a radio program on drug abuse prevention and control aired over the Radyo ng Bayan during the observance of the Drug Abuse Prevention Month, November 1999
• Disseminated drug prevention and education information in the broadcast media from March to November 1996
