Nueva Vizcaya mom moves to craft gender and development code

    Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (September 3) -- Provincial board members on Wednesday conducted a public hearing to shed light on the various issues and concerns needed for the crafting of a Gender and Development (GAD) Code for the province.
    The public hearing, attended by youth sector representatives, police officers, social welfare workers and municipal councilors of the 15 towns of the province tackled local issues on women's rights. (+)

Cagayan Valley RDC approves investment promotion plan

    Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (September 3) -- The Regional Development Council (RDC) for Cagayan Valley recently approved the investment promotion plan to carried out for the rest of the year.
    Milagros Rimando, RDC chair and National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) regional director said the Cagayan Valley Investment Promotion Plan (IPP 2010-2012) with the RDC Investment Promotion Plan were adopted by the RDC during its 100th regular business meeting on March 9, 2010 in Tuguegarao City. Religious sect holds "lechon" festival

    Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya (September3) -- A religious sect here on Wednesday opened their annual "Lechon" festival in barangay Bonfal East here.
    Jose "Tal" de Guia, 40 and leader of the religious sect "Vucal na Pananampalataya Teyac na Paniniwala" said the Lechon Festival was conceptualized to commemorate the 79th birthday of his deceased father Cuoya Dominador "Doming" de Guia who led the sect from 1967 to 2005. (+)

Nueva Vizcaya villagers get free titles, assorted seeds, tilapia fingerlings

    Manila (3 September) -- Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya (September3) -- Villagers here on Wednesday have received a package of assistance during the opening of this town's 53rd founding anniversary.
    Nancy Belvis, municipal agriculture officer said part of the opening program was the distribution of close to 2,000 free tilapia fingerlings and assorted vegetable seeds among 300 farmers given by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO).
