PCHRD's health research award nominations open until Nov. 15
Iloilo City (12 November) -- Nominations for the Outstanding Health Research Award (OHRA) for 2010 from individuals, scientific, technological and professional societies or associations, research institutes and universities and colleges are being accepted until November 15, 2009.
Launched by the Philippine Council for Health Research & Development of the Department of Science and Technology (PCHRD-DOST), the award encourages researchers to be sensitive to the scientific and technological requirements of the health delivery systems and rewards those whose research efforts are relevant to prevalent health problems.
It also seeks to give recognition to the work and individual research group which has demonstrated the link between research and practice through the utilization of research results for the improvement of the health delivery system.
All Filipino health researchers, working individually or in groups can be nominated to the award.
The award has two categories – the biomedical research category and health research systems category.
Winners in each category will receive a cash prize of P500,000 and a trophy.
Nominations should be submitted to the Office of the Executive Director of the PCHRD located at the 3/F DOST Administration Building, Gen. Santos Avenue, Bicutan, Taguig City not later than November 15, 2009. (PIA) [top]
