PDEA, Butuan and Surigao cops join forces vs illegal drugs

Butuan City (July 24) -- Joint elements of Butuan City Police Station-1 led by PCI IGLORIA and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office conducted search and seizure operation by virtue of search warrant number 999-2008, issued by Judge Emmanuel Escatron, Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court (RTC) 2, Hall of Justice, Libertad, Butuan City dated July 17, 2008 which resulted to the arrest of the suspect identified as Ali Tanog Manap, 34 years old, married and resident of Purok-4 La Fortuna, Barangay Doongan, this city on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 6:15 in the evening.

Operatives were able to confiscate one sachet of suspected shabu; two sachets with residue of suspected shabu; one spoon with residue; four several pieces of plastic cellophane; one unit digital weighing scale; one piece bamboo stick as improvise heat sealer; four pieces P100.00 bill and one piece fake P500.00 bill; cash money worth P1,600.00; assorted cellphones and other drug paraphernalia.

Suspect is now detained at Butuan City Police Station-1 for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges in court.

Meanwhile, at 7:30 in the morning of the same date, a certain Eleazar Maluenda, Purok President reported to Barobo Municipal Police Station that they intercepted and apprehended two persons namely Quirico Tiburcio, 29 years old, married and Robert Bargio, 17 years old, single, both residents of Purok-7, Talisay, Poblacion, Barobo, Surigao del Sur for having been caught in possession of one stick of suspected marijuana.

Immediately, elements of Barobo Municipal Police Station led by SPO3 Leo Asuncion proceeded to the area and apprehended the suspects, and subsequently brought to the station for proper disposition.

Appropriate charges are being readied for filing in court against the suspects.


Illegal fishing suspect voluntarily surrenders to Basilisa police officers

A certain Edwin Cadlawon, 35 years old, married and a resident of Barangay Pito Princesa, Basilisa, Dinagat Island, voluntarily surrendered to Basilisa Municipal Police Station (MPS) accompanied by Barangay Captain Norlito Ticod of said barangay on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 10:00 in the morning at Basilisa Municipal Police Station, Dinagat Island Province.

Said suspect has alias warrant of arrest issued by Judge Diomedes Eviota, Executive Judge 10th Judicial Region, Branch 22, Surigao City for the crime of illegal fishing, docketed under criminal case number 863.

person was turned-over to the issuing court for proper disposition.


Intel operatives of Agusan del Norte PPO arrest illegal gambling suspect

Intel operatives of Agusan del Norte PPO apprehended a certain Samuel Dado, 30 years old, single, for having been caught in the act of collecting remittances/proceeds of illegal gambling locally known as "suertres" on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 1:00 in the afternoon in Barangay Alubijid, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

Confiscated from his possession were tally sheets with number combinations and bet money in the amount of P13.00.

Suspect was brought to Agusan del Norte PPO for proper disposition.


Bunawan town cops investigate highway robbery incident

A Bachelor Bus with body number 4940 bound for Butuan City from Davao City driven by Fermor Victor Ulbenario and conductor Leonardo Belas was held up by unidentified suspects armed with two caliber.45 pistols and one Thompson in Sitio Binganan, Barangay San Andres, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 3:15 in the morning.

The suspects boarded the said bus at Trento Bus Terminal and upon reaching the above-mentioned place they let the bus stop and declared hold-up.

They carted a total amount of Thirteen Thousand Pesos (Php 13,000.00) from the collection money of the conductor amounting to Php 7,000.00 and cash from four passengers amounting to Php 6,000.00.

Robbers also took away two wristwatch and two mobile phones and afterwhich, they fled to unknown direction.

Elements of Bunawan Municipal Police Station immediately proceeded to the place of incident and conducted pursuit operation but yielded negative result. (PIA-Caraga) [top]
