Roxas City reactivates anti-drug council

Roxas City (26 November) -- An executive order for the reactivation of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) was issued by Roxas City Mayor Vicente B. Bermejo to intensify the city government's anti-drug campaign.
"It is imperative to reconstitute and reorganize the CADAC to provide the needed support to wage the relentless campaign against the use of illegal drugs," Bermejo said in issuing the executive order.
A subsidy worth P400,000.00 which was taken from the New Revenue Sources – Tax Revenue - Internal Revenue Allotment was appropriated by the Sangguniang Panlungsod through an ordinance for funding of Roxas City Police Station's (RCPS) anti-illegal drugs operation.
Bermejo pointed that out drug-related incidents will be minimized if not totally eradicated with the fund support to the enforcement agencies as well as help of the people in the community.
The CADAC is chaired by Bermejo with the RCPS Chief of Police as vice-chairman. Its members include Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) City Officer, Department of Education (DepEd) – City Division Superintendent, City Prosecutor, City Health Officer, City Social Welfare and Development Officer, City Public Information Officer, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and Liga ng mga Barangay Federations President, and City Council's Women and Children as well as Peace and Order Committees Chairperson.
Representatives coming from some non-government/socio-civic, children and youth and church organizations are also members of the council. (with reports from Benny P. Cortes/PIA) [top]
