Pangasinan gov turns over 11 ambulances to gov't hospitals

Dagupan City (11 November) -- Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. turned over yesterday five brand new and six reconditioned ambulances to the various government-owned hospitals in Pangasinan.

During the turn-over rites, the governor reminded the chiefs of hospitals of the proper use of ambulances. Designated drivers, he also said, should observe work ethics and discipline.

He bared that nine more brand new ambulances are set to arrive next week to be distributed to the other government hospitals.

The initial five brand new ambulances were given to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH), Bayambang District Hospital, Urdaneta District Hospital, Eastern District Hospital in Tayug and Western District Hospital in Alaminso City.

The six reconditioned ambulances, on the other hand, were awarded to the PPH, Manaoag Community Hospital, Bolinao Community Hospital, Umingan Community Hospital, Pozzorubio Community Hospital, and the Eastern District Hospital.

The other nine ambulances will be turned over to the community hospitals of Bolinao, Mangatarem, Lingayen, Pozzorubio, Dasol, Asingan, Mapandan, Manaoag and Umingan.

"As I always say, it is my vision that all pregnant mothers in Pangasinan will be brought to the hospitals and give birth there," the governor stressed as he added that in due time all government hospitals will be fully equipped to better serve the health needs of all sick Pangasinenses especially those belonging to the less fortunate.

Dr. Jackson Soriano, PPH chief of hospital, said: "This will serve as a big boost to the provincial government's health thrust as what the governor wants to happen. Lahat ng government hospitals dito sa probinsya ay magkakaroon ng minimum na dalawang ambulansya."

The project is a shared undertaking of the province and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). (PIO/PIA Pangasinan) [top]
