NGCP sponsors appreciation tour for Cagayan Valley media practitioners
Santiago City (October 29) -- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines(NGCP) on Thursday sponsored a media appreciation tour on its facilities here among media practitioners in Cagayan Valley.
Melma Batario, NGCP corporate communication specialist said the media tour is intended to heighten public awareness on the Anti-Pilferage Law and Public Safety Program in the region.
"NGCP intends to increase media awareness and solicit support from our media partners to drum up our campaign not only on the prevention of pilferage, revenue losses and power outages but most specially on the prevention of human accidents and deaths," she said during the program at the NGCP substation in barangay Balintocatoc here.
NGCP also presented to the participants the following topics: NGCP background, line safety and security, grid overview and profile and an open forum to shed light on various issues and concerns raised by the media.
NGCP is a concessionaire of the Monte Oro Grid Resource Corporation (MOGRC), State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) and Calaca High Power Corporation (CHPC) with 134 distribution services and 105 utilities in its region 02 grid coverage.
NGCP has the following substations in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya; Gamu, Isabela, Santiago City, Tuguegarao City including the cooperative – owned stations in Cauayan and Ilagan in Isabela and Lagawe town in Ifugao.
Media practitioners who participated during the appreciation tour came from the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya. (bme/PIA NVizcaya) [top]
